Membership Application
1) Professional Code of Ethics:
We, as members of BRANNY, in order to make available well-designed, well constructed and affordable housing, pledge allegiance to the following principles and policies: Our paramount responsibility is to our customers, our community, and our country. Honesty is our grading policy. High standards of health, safety, and sanitation shall be built into every home. Members shall deal fairly with their respective employees, subcontractors, and suppliers. As members of a progressive industry, we encourage research to develop new materials, building techniques, building equipment, and to improve methods of home financing: to the end that every new home purchaser may get the greatest value possible for every dollar. All sound legislative proposals affecting our industry and the people we serve shall have our informed and vigorous support. We pledge to support our associates, our local, state, and national associations and all related industries concerned with the preservations of legitimate rights and freedoms. We shall comply with all laws-federal, state, and local. We assume these responsibilities freely and solemnly, mindful that they are part of our obligation as members of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the New York State Builders Assocation (NYSBA).
2) National & State Associations:
By joining Branny, you automatically become a member of NAHB and NYSBA. Both associations work to monitor government activities that affect the building industry.
3) Networking:
Attend the General Membership meetings that offer speakers addressing subjects of interest to the building community, this is a great way to make contacts and develop job leads. There are other opportunities to network as well.
4) Construction Performance Guidelines/Warranty:
This tool, available from NAHB, defines and establishes standards of performance which are common in the industry in our area. These guidelines are intended to define standards for construction in a good workmanlike manner, free from material defects. A limited warranty is available for all builder members as well as a new construction purchase contract.
5) Government Relations:
BRANNY members become more informed through the Association’s grassroots lobbying efforts on the numerous issues affecting the building industry. On the national and state levels the BUILD PAC (NAHB) and NY Build PAC (NYSBA) programs protects industry interests in government by insuring that candidates that represent the building industry focus on pro-business.

6) Educational Programs:
BRANNY holds valuable educational programs at many of their general membership meetings. In addition, the state and national associations also offer programs that keep members informed in today’s changing industry. Some of these programs offer members the opportunity to become business professionals with NAHB certification titles.
7) Discount Programs / Services:
Group health insurance, workers’ compensation and numerous other tangible benefits are available to members and their employees at discounted rates through NYSBA’s Sponsored Programs.
8) Special Industry Events:
High impact events on the local, state and national level, including the annual International Builders Show, which promotes products and professionalism throughout the building industry. Your membership in BRANNY allows you member access to this important event as well as others.
9 Publications:
As a BRANNY member, you will be listed in our online directory and will receive all emails and mailings that keep members up to date on industry issues. Additionally, you will receive the NYSBA bi-monthly magazine “Empire State Builder” and the monthly “State Report” which is faxed or emailed to all members.
10) Membership Doesn’t Cost – It Pays:
For as little as a few dollars a day you can join the many other professionals who know the value of BRANNY membership. Joining BRANNY is an investment in your future.
